Field size limited?

    Hi Tobias,
    please excuse me if the problem is already solved, but I searched first 10 sites (of 150) and couldn’t find any answer.
    I’m testing TablePress Version 1.5.1. and want to import a excel table. The content is

    Deckblatt Titel Autor bibliografische Daten
    Das Ende der Ozeane. Warum wir ohne die Meere nicht überleben werden Mojib Latif Herder-Verlag Freiburg 2014 319
    Das Strompreiskomplott Malte Kreutzfeldt Knauer; 2014; 128 S.; ISBN 978-3-426-78673-4

    The result you can see in the link. First I thought the field length “Titel” is limited an only short text can be imported. But I added a new column and inserted a text 984 characters long without any problem. The whole text “Das Ende der Ozeane. Warum wir ohne die Meere nicht überleben werden” I can manually insert into the field “Titel” and it works fine.
    Is this a problem of the importer?

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    I assume that this is simply an issue with the direct Excel import (which is still experimental).
    Can you maybe try to import that table after saving it to a CSV file in Excel? That’s way more robust.

    Thank you, this is the solution. I know tha direct import is experimental, but hoped, that it would work.
