Fields are flushed on errors

If i make a form with 3 input fields and 1 text area.

And e.g force an error by not filling out one of the fields, or make an invalid email adress.

All the input fields are flushed (the textarea works fine).
And then the user have to fill out the form again.

Is it possible to make all user input stay in the form on errors?
