We have made a custom form using WP to lead for Salesforce CRM. Everything is almost the same as the default form. We are having trouble getting the field called “Description” that contains the message from the person who is signing the form to show up in our salesforce lead. Everything else comes thru ok. I read some of the other post and they are similar to our problem, but not helping us. The message from the description does come thru on the e-mail notification side though.
    Please help.

Description is a default lead field… unless you changed the field name in the form editor, it should be going though.

Does a ‘new’ form work (no modifications)?

    Show me a screenshot of:
    – the form editor screen of the form in question?
    – a lead missing the Description data?
    – your Leads fields (setup: customize: leads: lead fields)?

Forward me an an email with the description text for the lead above?

Resolved: there was no Description field in the form, hence there was nothing to submit.

Hi we have a custom form using WP (and there is a description field in the form)but we’re not getting the “description” field (message from the person signing the form) populated in the SFDC Lead. Could you please help? Thanks

Please create a new thread for new issues.

    In that thread, please mention:
    WP Version
    SFWP2L Version
Link to a screenshot of your form settings

    Thanks!

What I found out is this.

In sales force you have to add either message or description to the “view”, out of the list of optional fields to view. Don’t change the field name in the form, leave it as description. Just rename the value if you want it to say Message instead of Description. So, someone filling out the form will see “message” but on the sales force side it will still come out as “description’. It was a while ago when I figured this out so my memory is kinda foggy. Hope this helps.
