• Thanks for the great plugin! Has been working very well for us for awhile now.

Recently however we are noticing some emails are coming in mapped to the wrong fields.

For example, the From Name is set as <Unknown sender> or Mime-version: – Perhaps an issue with email header.

Any thoughts on why this may be happening? Anyone else with this issue?

This is email notifications via Gravity Forms, using Sendgrid.

Part of the email header of a recent email that had the strange From field mapping.

Remains an intermittent issue at the moment. Sendgrid said it may be an extra comma in the To: field, which should only be one email address.

    (@bozzmedia)

    Here’s what Sendgrid says:

In our system, the email you provided has the processed and delivered events with the From address:

    ""[email protected]"" <[email protected]>

The name of the From address should appear in our system with only one set of quotation marks like this:

    Eg: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

For this matter, I would recommend to check the settings for the From name as it is reaching SendGrid with additional quotation marks.

All I have in the Gravity Forms notification from field is:

    [email protected]

Perhaps the source of this is a plugin conflict? Any thoughts? Thank you!

This issue persists. Any thoughts on the quote issue? Would be happy to send you the full email transcript if that helps troubleshoot.

    Email just arrived with:

    From: Mime-Version: 1.0

    in the full message.

This issue persists. Recent email came in with

    From:
Using Postman SMTP 1.8.9 for WordPress (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-smtp/)

    From: Mime-Version: 1.0

Any thoughts on this and the above from sendgrid? Thanks for your help.

Here is something interesting, a successful email’s header info. The first is at the very top, the second is below.

    From:
    	"\"[email protected]\"" <[email protected]> Using Postman SMTP 1.8.9 for WordPress (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-smtp/)

    From: "\"[email protected]\"" <[email protected]>

    @bozzmedia

can you say what is common for the failed emails?

You have 20427 success emails vs 31 failed.

something in the 31 emails probably causing it, maybe the same source? plugin reports?

    Thread Starter Marty

    (@bozzmedia)

The emails do not fail, they are often either marked as spam or the From name is <unknown sender>.

This only became an issue in the past month or so.

The commmon point of failure is as I expressed above.. sometimes the From name is not parsed correctly, there seems to be additional quotations and attempts to escape the quotations. The issue does not appear to be on the Gravity Forms or Sendgrid side (I have already investigated these)

    Thread Starter Marty

    (@bozzmedia)

To put it another way, the emails are being delivered successfully however the headers are sometimes corrupted. There does not seem to be any difference in the actual content of the emails, the headers simply do not always pull the information from Gravity Forms notifications properly. It’s a very interesting situation because of this intermittent nature. Thanks again for your help.
