    Hello,

I am using BuddyPress 2.1.1 and the Parallelus Salutation theme. I have checked for the hook you specified in the FAQ and it is there on both the edit.php and register.php and yet the fields aren’t showing up on the front end. All that appears is “This field can be seen by: Everyone Change”. The label and field do not appear. The two fields I am trying to have appear are the birthday selector and the HTML5 date picker. The backend works fine. Any ideas as to why they are not appearing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,

Sorry, the FAQ is not updated yet, I will try to do ASAP. You need to check your template with the files of buddypress buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/…

I placed the line of code in the files you mentioned, “buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/profile/edit.php and the fields are still not appearing.

Any ideas as to what I can do from here?

Thank you kindly for your quick response to my last post.

I don’t believe it’s only a line of code, if you compare the file edit.php original from buddypress and your file you should see more than one line different I think. The problem is on php code, you don’t need to care about html.

If I have everything up to date and I still can’t figure out how to make the fields and labels appear than I think this plugin is too complicated to use. Unless provided with explicit instructions I won’t be able to use your plugin.

    That’s a shame. I was hoping this wouldn’t be a difficult fix.

The plugin works perfectly if you use a theme updated. So talk with your theme support and ask them for help… If they can’t provide you support, you need to think about changing your theme or not use this plugin. Sorry.

    Hi donmik,

I know maybe you think the problem is the theme file, and I dont know which exactly file I need to edit since I never touched that Profile > Edit but here is my case:

I updated all buddypress plugin and buddypress xprofile custom fields plugin to latest version.

All custom fields are working except the file and image field type.

Take a look at this picture: https://imgur.com/t0ncg8S

The <input> type file field is supposed to appear in the gray blocks (it works on previous version) but now it is gone.

    Please take a look.

    Thanks!

I can’t help you with a premium theme, sorry. If you change to buddypress default theme, the file should work like it works in my test site, so probably your theme miss something new in buddypress 2.0.
