• Dear people,
I saw this example of “Fifteen” (https://demo.inkhive.com/fifteen/)

I uploaded the theme but i have no idea how to get this design.
Especially the nine squares in the grey rectangle which gives a link to the next page. In my case 9 videoclips.
Is there a manual for this?
(btw: i prefer a static site, not a blogsite)

Can someone give me a link for more explanation?
    thanks in advance,
    Herman

Ideas are welcome (a bottle of wine too ?? ).

The read more link from the box on the front page of the demo will lead you to the blog post.

I have to interpretate this asking sentences (english is not my language ?? ). Tomorrow i have a look. Thx for your (and everyones) help and good night.

Good night – we can pick this up in the morning…

To get the grid, you have to select latest posts for your home page (under Settings > Reading) and you need to have a featured image in those posts. I don’t think there is any way to use videos in those locations, at least not without a fair amount of custom coding.

If you can’t find another theme that will do exactly what you want, perhaps you can put an image (from the video) as the featured image for the post – and then put the video in that post – so when people click on the front page image, the link will open the post and they’ll see the video there.

Tomorrow i give it another try.

yeah, maybe something like that. i developed that in html/css script (combination) before. Without using javascript. It was a little bit complicated because i wanted also an effect like Fifteen. It worked out but not so nice like Fifteen.

But my sheets are waiting… (i don’t understand the word “featured” very good)
    See you all tomorrow.

    Thx for your help yesterday.

Below was my former mail to Inkhive. Or they didn’t understand, or they are very buzzy or … ?? But i just sent a reminder.
Question: is this mail clear to you?

    “Dear reader,
Your design and capabilities of Fifteen appealed to me (html5, diverse languages, responsiveness for mobile phones and tablets).
I’m looking for a theme in which i can present my two subjects 1) videoclips and 2) photography (photo gallerys with use of archive) independently.
(Add on: i prefer a static site, blogging is for me not necessary)

In the menu of Fifteen is a link to ‘video’ but there is no video.
This is the first time I’m going to work with WordPress so I’m fairly unfamiliar with the customization options in WordPress. Well I’m pretty familiar with html and css.
My question: Is it possible, behind the image(s) of the main page, to link to a video instead of a photo? Because of the use of html5 i suppose it’s possible, but …
    With kindly regards,
    Herman Kopp.” end of mail

But i just sent a reminder.

Yes, but not all theme developers have time and money to spend supporting their free themes :)! I see that their site also has a link to this forum for support of this theme – so this is likely your best place to get help – whether from the developer or any of us volunteers.

You can’t change the link – but you can put the video IN the post and the featured image already links to that post – I think that’s your best approach.
