• Hello, I just download the free version, and trough settings I selected the option to attach the file into a post but nothing happens, maybe I did not understand something.
Then I will ask you if there is the possibility to add a categorie to a file that will be upload.
    Thank you in advance

Hi, in WordPress language, attach a file to a post means that the file is linked with the page. However it will not show on the page (in case you want something like this). You need to use a plugin that displays files attached to a post, or use gallery option of WordPress File Upload plugin which does the same thing.

When you say category what do you mean?

Hi, thank you so much for your answer. I need to show into a post(or page) the file uploaded, I am a firefighter and I am working on small intranet site for my fire station and we need to upload some pdf document and those pdf should be on the post or page ready to be read. I was thinking about categories because I thought to use those file uploaded into a blog module….I mean something you upload and automatically will be shown….
Last thing, may I ask you what plugin I have to use to show the pdf uploaded into a page…
    Thanks again.

Hi again, yes, if will be possible I want to show those pdf like a gallery or library where every colleagues of mine can read those documents.
I will explain better. Every day we have to write a report(pdf) and publish in this intranet site, but firefighters are not so good with computers, that’s why I have to find the easiest way to publish and read those pdf without enter into the wordpress dashboard..

Hi.. sorry to bother, the premium version of your plugin does the option that I need?(show the pdf uploaded directly into a post or page) I’m asking that because I have to spend the money of the fire station and I need to be sure to buy the right thing… plus I’m not a pro:-) as you can see…

Hi, well not exactly. The Pro version can display a list of the files in a tabular format with additional information (like title, date) and maybe the thumbnail (I will have to check). A firefighter can click on the file and it will open on his browser.

Please send me your email so that I can send you the Pro version free of charge if you don’t mind (consider it as a kind support by my side as I am a retired officer of the Air Force myself). I will gladly help you set it up if you think it fits your needs.

    Thanks again.

Ok Alberto, I am happy you found a solution. Was it with WordPress File Upload plugin? If yes, then please feel free to ask me again for any support.

I apologize for not answering the last couple of days, I was really very busy.

    Regards

    Hello Nickolas,
I have signed in after sending you my last email.
I see from the above that Alberto had the same problem as me though I am not sure the members want to pay more for the site which was very expensive.
Could I be able to upload to the page where the File Upload is installed and be visible with thumbnail etc?

Hi Iain, the plugin Pro version has file viewers to display the uploaded files. Here is a link that provides details about them. The front-end file viewer can be added in any page or post and it is very configurable.

Thumbnails are not displayed by default, however it can be done rather easily with some instructions by me.

I do not know if you have a different way to show the files.

    Nickolas
