• For the past hour, my File Detection has been telling me that there has been a change in my wp-admin/error_log file. However, I am not making any sort of changes to my website. And whenever I refresh the File Detection, it says the same thing.

I have gone to my Web Host and checked my error logs. And it says:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_items() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/lib/bit51/bit51.php on line 353

This just repeats over and over.

Is there something wrong with my version of the Plugin? Am I being hacked? PLEASE someone help! I’m really stressing out and am not sure what is happening.

    My site is: https://www.openmindedtravel.com/

  • I have exactly the same problem today. I got a notification that 3,333 files have been added (which I think are the original WP files, because the scan date is last Friday when I first installed the plugin) but when I try to look past page 1 of the log, I get the same error and it returns me to the first page again:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::get_items() in /home/becomeyo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security/lib/bit51/bit51.php on line 353

My site looks fine however, I think the issue is because of the number of log pages.

I’ve been seeing this behavior as well, dozen’s of emails sent stating that files are changing – yet no file listed in the body of the email. The traffic got so bad that my provider shut down my site!! They thought it was being hacked. I’m back up now, however, they had to shut down ALL my plugins to get things stabilized.

Back to square one with this puglin.

@zanimul I’m only getting one email about the file changes and it shows the number of files changed in the email – the actual file names are in the log files.

My issue is that I can’t see the log file past page 1 without getting that Fatal Error show up in the sidebar.
