    Hello @rwalle

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.

/wp-content/w3tc-config/master.php is a configuration file which contains the W3 Total Cache settings that are enabled. Once those settings are changed, the file is updated of course..
This is a normal behavior and there is nothing to worry about!

    Thanks!

    Hi thanks,

I didn’t change any settings in the W3 Total Cache Settings.

That is why I mention it. Does an update of the plugin trigger a change of this file?

    Hey @rwalle

    Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, it may change with the update of the plugin of course when new settings were added or the existing ones were modified in with the new release.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

The update of the plugin was done:

Automatically Updated W3 Total Cache Plugin to 2.2.12?

    2023-01-19 02:21:13

The change was made to master.php: 2023-01-25 10:43:22

From the log it looks like the change was made from server hosting the website, so not remotely.

Is there a way to reset the file to default just to be sure the file has not been tampered with?

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hello @rwalle

    Thank you for your feedback.

You can reset the W3 Total Cache to default settings in Performance>General settings, and scroll down to Import/Export settings and click the “Restore Default settings”. This will also modify the master.php file by updating it to match the default settigns.

    Thanks!
