    Hi,

I just noticed a weird issue on one of my sites.

I have set iThemes Security to disable the File Editor. My wp-config.php file reflects that setting:

define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true ); // Disable File Editor - Security > Settings > WordPress Tweaks > File Editor
// END iThemes Security - Do not modify or remove this line

However, on this one site, the Theme Editor and Plugin Editor are still present and usable despite this setting. I can’t figure out why; two other sites with similar configurations, also using iThemes Security and this setting, have the editor disabled as it should be, but this one somehow reappeared.

Any idea why the Disable File Editor setting might not be working? I’m very puzzled.

    Thanks!

Hmm — as an experiment, I tried turning off the Disable File Editor setting in WordPress Tweaks, saving, going back into WordPress Tweaks, and enabling that setting again. This time, after refreshing the dashboard, the file editors were gone. Very odd!
