• I’ve encountered an error on my self hosted wordpress install that I can’t tell if it was there before or not. We use the User Role Editor and have a trial member account is not able to publish posts until their trial is over. However it was brought to my attention that if a person attempts to upload a file over 99Kb, then it errors out with the following;

    File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.

    I can confirm that there is no issue with the php or upload sizes. The moment you give that user access to edit posts, the error goes away. I’ve been trying to look through the wordpress code to find the hardlimit, but I haven’t been able to do.

    There are also no errors logged either.

    Was wondering had encountered this and a fix.
