• I have a lot of different media on available, pictures, movies, pdf’s, docs and need to be able to manage them. In a sense, each thing needs to be placed in various folders or its not useful in anyway.

    Is there a way to create different directories in the uploads folder and have it searchable or browsable from the page/post editor? Or at least have another filter added under the media area for images pdf’s docs and not just images and other?

    Plenty of other cms seem to be able to do this without much trouble, thanks for the help ahead of time

    Why? What is it that you want to do that requires different filetypes to be stored in different folders?

    Uh? Try using the Add Media option. You can upload .doc, .xls, .pdf, .mp3 files without any problem.

    HI guys!

    I am not able to upload doc and zip files… Anyone as an idea why? Pdf uploads fine… permissions of wp-content set to 777…

    @esmi

    Its not different file types necessarily its different files associated with different things.

    Lets say I had a page about you called esmi, Id like to be able to store all files associated for you in a directory called esmi. Its simply easier to manage in such a way.

    I know I can upload anything I want, at the top of the add media it lists * All (54) |
    * Images (23) |
    * Unattached

    Is there a way to add things such as .doc .pdf etc to filter by those categoris instead of just images and other.
