File Name with Asian characters

  • 1) Upload of file name with Asian character(such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean) by FTP looks okay.
    2) After the files are added(imported) from above FTP folder to Media library, Asian characters are not displayed correctly.

    Any solution or suggestion?
    Does this plugin support UTF-8?

    Does the file upload properly if you upload it through WordPress’s UI?

    If it uploads through WordPress, then no, the plugin doesn’t support it properly and won’t support it any time soon.

    Upload files directly by FTP to a separate folder.
    In this stage, no problem at Asian character file name.
    Then, import to WP media library by “Add from server”.
    English file name is okay but Asian character file name is garbled.
    File name is shown as “unnamed-file.xxx”
