"File Not Found" when posting WordPress URL to Facebook

About a year or so ago (maybe longer) I started experiencing a problem when posting my WordPress URLs to Facebook. They always show “File Not Found” in the link preview for any new post I make.
The work around has been to use shortened URLs from Hootsuite or TinyUrl. However, this is getting tiresome over time.
Can someone help me figure this out so we don’t have to use the work around any longer? Can’t seem to find a solution online.
