• I am hoping you can help me with the following problem:

When I use the ‘Replace the file, use new file name and update all links’ option, the new file appears in the media library but the links are not getting updated.

It appears that the old file gets deleted (uploads/2017/11/filename.pdf)
and a new file is created (uploads/2018/04/filename.pdf)
Links still point to the old filename and therefore result in 404 pages.

Permissions on the uploads folder is 0755 and the old & new files are 0644.
I checked with our host (SiteGround) and they confirmed that the uploads folder has read, write & execute permissions.

It is my assumption that choosing this option (‘Replace the file, use new file name and update all links’) will REPLACE the file in the uploads folder (not delete & create a new one). If my assumption is correct, can you please tell me why the replacement is not occurring?

Note: I am running the 3.2.5 version of the plugin, with the current versions of Salient theme & Visual Composer & WordPress (4.9.5)

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi,
could you please try to go here
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-media-replace/advanced/
and from the bottom of the page to download version 3.2.4 of the plugin and see if that version solves the problem noted by you?

If not please let me know so I can try to further assist you.

    Thanks,
    Alex

I have had the same problem recently. I only noticed it a couple weeks ago. I had the problem before upgrading to 3.2.5 and after I upgraded. I have downgraded to 3.2.4 and then to 3.2.3 and still the plugin is not updating/replacing the photo.
