    Hello.

I am testing your plugin before go live with it.
    My setup:
Job – database and file backup; archive format Zip; Backup file store in folder (Backup to Folder); job start from wordpress cron.
After successful backup job, I transferred zipped backup file to mac.
Then I uploaded zip file to another server via Filezilla app and extracted this file with server admin panel file manager.
Problem I found only with this plugin backup – after such operations I described, file permissions changed from 0644 to 0666.
So all files, which permissions were 0644, after transferring to new server, automatically changed to 0666.
What would you recommend to prevent it?

    Thanks.

After you extracted the backup file with your server panel file manager, the file permission change from 0644 to 0666.
So this problem isn’t related to BackWPUp and BackWPUp don’t have any method to change file or folder permission ??

    Thanks.

I had no such problems with other tested backup plugins.

I have this problem too. Backups that can’t be restored are useless. I understand that BackWPup isn’t the cause, but it’d be nice if the plugin author could advise how to fix the problem when it occurs. I’m on HostGator (basic shared hosting), using cPanel File Manager v3.
