The section on file system security suggests that I change my public_html folder to 755. It is, by default, 750 which everywhere I search on the web says is the correct setting. Why does AIOWPS want 755?

Hi, we have taken the default settings recommended by www.ads-software.com. You can read more about it here changing-file-permissions/#shared-hosting-with-suexec.

However, if your site/server requires the permissions to be set to 750, you can leave it as that and ignore our plugins settings recommendation.

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you

Thanks for your prompt response. I had changed to the settings suggested by AIOWPS on a few of the sites I manage and then started to wonder about it – hence my question here. Decided to change all sites back to 750 and went I went to each site I saw that they had already been changed back so I guess my host requires it.
OK – we’re good. Thanks for your help!
