Hello I am using the File Manager plugin on my clients website.

There is a Javascript file that has a “lock” icon. If I press the right mouse button and press “Get info and share” it says “no” at Lock.

    I can’t edit this file.

Thats sounds strange, because I do see a lock icon right?

So how can we get rid of this lock and that I can edit this javascript file?

    Kind regards, Rowdy

    Hello @rodricus,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We’re here to help.

When you encounter a padlock icon on a file, it indicates that you lack sufficient permissions to edit the file and make changes.

To resolve this, you’ll need to adjust the file permissions to read-write. You can find detailed information on this process in the following article: Understanding File Permissions. The article guides changing file permissions using FTP clients.

If the issue persists, we recommend reaching out to your hosting company’s support team for further assistance.

Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

    Best Regards,

    Hey @rodricus,

No, It is not possible to change the file permissions with our plugins. We don’t have plans to add this feature to the plugin in the future.
You can use FTP programs like FileZilla and Cyberduck or through your hosting control panels like Cpanel or Plesk.
