• josie,

when somebody makes an error uploading a file, i.e larger than the specified parameters, the pop up that tells them so is unreadable… it used to be OK….

The box has a white space to the left and truncates the text on the right using 3 or 4 characters..
any help would be appreciated, (using 1.3.7)

Did you change your theme recently? Or add a new plugin?

Most of the styling on that popup is controlled by either your theme or a jQuery plugin that comes with WordPress, but other WordPress plugins could possibly override it.

If you have any knowledge of css, you could try right-clicking on the text in the popup and checking which file the settings for padding and margin come from.

Or try changing your theme, and/or disabling other plugins. If you find a conflict, please let me know.

    thanks,
it appears that a plugin called “Events Made Easy” caused the issue.
Luckily I have not put that part of my website into production…

I have deactivated it for the time being

I tried installing that plugin and did not get the effect you describe, so there may be some interaction with your theme, too. Or it may just be an accident of the order of loading plugins.

If you really want both plugins, you may need to modify some css. Most of entrywizard’s css and javascript files load only on the pages they are needed for, but I did find a couple of exceptions. I’ll fix those for the next version.

    Josie,
thanks for your diligence in checking this out. I have a competition running at the moment, but will have plenty of time until the next one to learn css so that I can get both plugins running
Really appreciate your efforts. Entry Wizard is a great plugin for collecting images for competition.
Do you have plans to improve the rating system into a full judging app, or do you know of anyone who has made entry wizard a part of their competition judging system?

Not sure what you mean by a full judging app — can you explain?

I know a number of clubs that use EntryWizard for uploading images and Ewz-Rating for on-line judging. And others that use EntryWizard and then hold live judgings, displaying the images on a screen using Flexishow.

Can you not use the Judging part of Ewz Ratings, projected to a screen and have judges do live judging and then adding the combined score through Ewz Ratings, no need for Flexishow

I have experimented with EWZ ratings, and I have set up a form which allows for score input. My problem is the output after judging is complete, is a csv file. what I would like is away to display the ratings on my web site already ranked by score.
Perhaps a you could call it a results form which is customizable, and displayed via a shortcode , like webforms and ratingsforms…

That way i can download all of my images to the display computer prior to the competition for display (or use the inbuilt viewing that you have), and enter scores and get immediate results on another online computer.

another thing on my wishlist, is a shortcode to the Webforms download options, so that somebody else who is not wordpress savy can actually get the info to run a competition without me being there. ( i am old and planning for my demise:-)) )

    Hope this helps,

best wishes and once again thankyou

    Robert.

The “read” view on a rating form, with “all logged-in users” as the judge, will give you something closer to what you want.
Or you can upload the scores to the webform and then attach the images to another page.

I think you mean a shortcut to the Webforms download options, not a shortcode ??

Try setting the person’s entrywizard permissions so they can edit the webform but not do anything else, and don’t give them any other admin permissions.
Then they won’t see much on the admin menu except their profile link and the entrywizard webform link.

Thanks for the advise, and the entrywizard permissions trick works Ok , but is not ideal as I really don’t want people on the back end of the website. but it will do the job.

Now I am not understanding what you mean by the “read” view on the rating form. I cannot find anything that refers to it.

Perhaps you are not fully understanding what I am getting at in trying to define the results requirement. (and I make this suggestion as a possible future enhancement)
Would it be possible to integrate the rating form into a “results form” in a similar way you have the webform into the rating form, with options to create a form, display various fields and sort on them, and a shortcode to put the results on a webpage….
My objective on the night of a live competition is get results and rankings before everybody goes home.. playing around uploading, download and reformating .csv’s does not work very well and is not really sustainable .

    once again thanks a lot

It might be possible if there were 6 of me! I’m totally swamped as it is!

The “read” view is generated by using a different option on the rating shortcode. The easiest way is to select the rating form from the dropdown in the editor, but be sure to select the “general” version, not “simple”. Then you get a number of options, one of which is the type: rate, read or secondary.

    Josie,
thanks. Got it on the rating form. was looking in the wrong place all together.
Wish I could help on enhancements.. but sadly outside my skill set.
    but thanks for the support
