File URL not working

  • Hi, I am using WordPress 3.3.1. and installed the plugin Filebase version 0.2.9.24. While uploading files are uploaded to the specified directory. When adding file from File URL, I am getting an error message “Could not get file information from https://xxx.com/files/2012/10/xxx.png!”. Previously it was working fine for me. It is also working in my local environment. In development environment its not working. I am not able to link file through external URL / Copy file into Filebase. What could be the reason? Kindly help me. Thanks in advance.
