    Wordpress version: 5.9.3
    Theme: Twenty Twenty-Two
    All other plugins are disabled.
    Download Monitor version: 4.5.91

Since the upgrade from 4.4.14 to 4.5.91 urls for files are being truncated on saving the post.
For example, uploading a file will result in a url in the textarea “File URL(s); note: only enter multiple URLs in here if you want to use file mirrors”:
    https://www.my-site.com/wp-content/uploads/dlm_uploads/2022/04/name-of-my-file.doc
When the post is saved, the file url is truncated and becomes:
    -content/uploads/dlm_uploads/2022/04/name-of-my-file.doc
Prior to the upgrade this was working correctly, as tested on a local install, following the upgrade the issue occurred.
The issue has occurred since the move from using the media library as the upload and file manager to the in-context file upload dialogue.

    Hey @appsol ,

    Is the path -content/uploads/... or wp-content/uploads/... ?

Since version 4.5.9 we are replacing file URLs with files real paths upon saving on some checks to avoid downloading some restricted files. Are you experiencing any problems with the download functionality?

    Kind Regards!
    Razvan

Downloading files located OUTSIDE of the root WP installation was the only reason for using Download Monitor on our websites and now they are all ruined (need to revert updates and, besides that, to recreate hundreds of downloads manually because all data were deleted !!!)

Could you please make this behaviour optional?

    Thanks

    @raldea89 the path is -content/uploads/...
Yes the downloads for any file added since the update does not work and instead goes into a redirect loop.

    Hello,

An update has been released that addresses this problem. Thank you for your patience and really sorry for the inconvenience.

@appsol in the post metabox will be the relative path of the file, and the relativity will be based on multiple factors, depending on how your webserver is configured.

    Warmly,
    Razvan
