A suggestion which would make my life very much easier: NF should only send a notification, if the files modified/changed do not match checksums of WP hosted original files.

What I mean: If I perform an upgrade (WP core, theme or plugin), NF should check the provided files by WP and only send a notification, if checksums do not match.

This way, I would not get a notification, if a file change is legit.

    Hi,

We cannot do that I’m afraid.
    1. File Guard works in real time. When you access a file, you get through it immediately. We cannot put the request on hold and then connect to WordPress repo and force your visitors to wait until we get the response and the checksum.

    2. Regarding File Check, it cannot because…it does not rely at all on checksums. It also detects changes in file permissions, ownership and timestamp, and that’s not something we can verify with a checksum (this applies to File Guard too).
In addition, this wouldn’t work with premium plugins, third-party applications or scripts, and of course a potential backdoor uploaded by a hacker.
