I’m getting the warning in the title with one of the backups I’m downloading from a new website. I checked and no other websites where I use Updraft result in the same warning. It’s specific to this site.

The website isn’t indexed and hasn’t even been completely built yet. I couldn’t find anything online but when Google gives you a warning about a file from a website you tend to take notice.

I get the same warning with every Updraft backup file I try to manually download from the site. Has anyone had anything like this happen? Should I be worried that the site is hacked? It’s an online store so it would make a logical target for hackers.

I should add that I have the free version of WordFence and a scan found nothing.

    Hi @aedum1

    Apologies for the late reply.

Google usually gives a warning message when downloading zip files. However, as long as you know that the file you are downloading is safe you can safely ignore the message.

If you don’t want to receive the warning message, on Firefox, please check the settings under menu path Tools->Options->Security. You may need to uncheck the options under the “General” section of that dialogue box.

There should also be a setting for on Chrome.

    Best Wishes,

    Hi, Bryle.

I’m using Chrome, not Firefox. The thing is, I’ve downloaded Updraft files many times when were zip files such as plugins and themes, so it doesn’t make sense that these particular files would cause an issue.

It really makes no sense. And that the website is going to be a massive store with high cost products, I’m particularly worried. Even with Wordfence and SiteGround scanners I’m worried that my client will be at risk. Especially considering that I’ve found nothing on Google, which would suggest that this problem is anything close to common.

Are there any other types of files that would cause this warning? Even so, the weird thing is that every package, be it plugins, themes, database or other are getting the same warning. Any Updraft files at all are flagged.
