I think you’ve got an issue with the latest update related to the WordPress repository. WordFence is finding discrepancies with many files and they appear to be versioning issues.

  • Hi @oakhillman,

Can you provide more information such as the version of the plugin you are using, and a copy of the specific descrepancies so they can be addressed? Thanks for your input.

Well I went to login into the backend so I could get you more information and the login page would not display. Turns out your plugin was the problem. I renamed the folder for the plugin and was able login. Not sure what to do now. The customer has a bunch of events in the calendar. I suppose I need to reinstall but not sure how to do that without losing all the events.

@oakhillman just so you are aware, the problem is not the plugin, but a conflict caused by another plugin, most likely the WordFence plugin, which has been the cause of false positives and conflicts that have prevented the calendar from operating properly.

Well I tried reinstalling and I’ve lost all the events, so that sucks. I’ve asked my host to restore from last night’s backup. I’ll of course have the same problem of not being able to login when the site is restored. I’ll try renaming the WordFence folder first.

IMO, WordFence is the leader in WordPress security, and there are I’m sure many thousands of WordPress users that would agree with me. I wouldn’t run a website without at least their free version. If you’re having compatibility issues I would be inclined to ask them for help. Looking for another security plugin is not an option, but looking for another calendar plugin is.

Not sure who defines Wordfence as world leader, but many plugins, not just ours, break:

^^ The link also outlines alternatives.

We do offer a hosted free calender, embeddable on any platform, designed to be free from conflicts with other plugins, available at https://www.time.ly (first column).

As for our plugin, we’ve taken the extra steps to use unique variables and have put the effort into the design so as to minimize the occurance of conflicts with other plugins. Our free hosted calendar is just another solution.

We have not had any reports of a user unable to login to their WordPress dashboard due to our plugin.

Well of course there are false positives with plugins. But that’s not the issue I’m having.

Anyhow, the site is restored and I renamed the WordFence folder to stop their plugin. I can now login to the WordPress backend of the website. So at least for me, running your plugin and WordFence caused the WordPress login screen to not display. What’s odd is that I’ve been running your plugin and WordFence on the website for at least a couple of years. And now, right after I had WordFence report a bunch of file discrepancies, I have this login problem. And the login problem wasn’t there when I reported the problem a couple of days ago. I just found it today when I wanted to login to give you more information about the file discrepancies.
