    Hi again,

I’ve just noticed that one of my websites with Shield installed was not loading. Identified the problem was due to a plugin and looking through the issue was with Shield, and specifically that the wp-simple-firewall folder dis not have all the files and folders which should have been present.

    These were missing:
    icwp-plugin-controller.php
    resources
    src

Do you know why this may have happened? Could it be malware/a hack causing this or something else. I haven’t accessed the file system for a while so couldn’t have accidentally deleted it.

    Thanks

I’m not entirely sure. Sometimes, when WordPress updates a plugin it doesn’t copy all the files. Curiously, a few of people reported something similar a couple of weeks ago, so I can only put it down to a glitch in the ZIP archives that were being packaged and distributed by www.ads-software.com at that particular time.

There’s also a possibility that there wasn’t enough disk space at the time for the ZIP file to unpack, but I would say this would raise an error before upgrading the plugin.

The simple fix is to reinstall.
