FileZilla connection problem

  • Background: I’m getting “JPG error” while trying to upload files. I’ve found various causes and solutions.

    Problem: Several solutions involve altering files, requiring an FTP editor. I installed FileZilla per WordPress guidance, but cannot connect. It appears to work until the password (which is correctly entered). I get;

    Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

    I am happily ignorant of FTP, HTML, etc. I just want to upload JPG files. I need plain english assistance please.

    What hosting are you using ?

    In the past, when I have had issues connecting to my server, contacting the server tech support team is the quickest way to solve the problem. There have been times when they have taken remote access of my system and resolved the issue faster rather than me trying permutations and combinations.
