    Hi,

I have noticed that another website is using your plugin and it looks great, however I was wondering how I can get the calendar to fill the page like it has on this website please?: https://www.penarthanddinasrunners.co.uk/calendars/

I have installed the plugin on my clients website, but the calendar is much smaller and aligned to the left. Is there something I need to change in the settings to make it bigger like the example shown above?

    Many Thanks
    Katrina

  • Hi @cariadcreative,

Thanks for reaching out! Much of how our calendars display on various sites has to do with the site’s theme and the options that are chosen for displaying the calendar in the plugin settings. You can find these settings in your WordPress sidebar under Events > Settings > Display. If you’re currently using the “Default Page Template” to display your calendar (listed next to the heading Events template), try choosing “Default Events Template” from the drop-down menu and clicking the blue button at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Give your calendar page a quick refresh after saving those changes, and let me know if that resolves your problem here!

    Hi Caroline,

Thank you for getting back to me.
I have tried changing the settings where you suggested and that still hasn’t resolved the issue I’m afraid.

I have also checked the settings for there theme and made sure that theme page display is set to wide and there are no sidebars causing the alignment to the left.
I have also noticed that on the example I sent over, they have the previous and following months links at the bottom on the calendar – any idea how I can get that to display on my calendar too please?

If you need access to the site, please let me know and I can provide login details.

    Many Thanks
    Katrina

    Hey @cariadcreative,

As Caroline pointed out, the exact appearance does depend on both the settings found under Events -> Settings -> Display and your WordPress theme.

It sounds like your WordPress theme might have some template customization going on for our plugins.

Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide support for specific theme-related appearance issues.

In order to gain full power on your site’s look and feel, I would highly recommend reading the following articles:

You can also try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see how this is supported “normally”.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Thank you for your response. I have now fixed the issue of the calendar filling the page and it looks great ??

One other question my client has, is it possible to change the colours of certain events (For example, they have training sessions they want in one colour, and then other outside events in another) is this something that can be customised without upgrading the calendar with add-ons?

    Thanks
    Katrina

    Hi @cariadcreative,

Thanks for following up–glad to hear that your calendar is starting to take shape on your site now! ?? It sounds like the third-party plugin The Events Calendar Category Colors might be a good fit for what you’re looking to do here. You can learn more about this plugin on our Knowledgebase here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/the-events-calendar-category-colors/

I hope that helps! Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you should have any other questions!
