Filling FTP details of a WordPress site hosted on Hostinger

  • The owner of giftoggle.com has provided me FTP details of carfinsure.com. Since I am not a Hostinger client, I am not able to use Hostinger Support.

    Your screenshot says “invalid username/password”. Nothing mysterious here.

    To rule out WordPress completely, try using the same credentials to connect via a desktop FTP client like FileZilla.

    If you’re still unable to connect, get your client to contact their host. No outsider can help in situations like this.

    Confirm you can successfully connect via FileZilla (or your favorite desktop FTP client), before you return to WordPress.

    I entered:
    Host: gardeninbloom.com
    Username: u225919089.giftoggle.com

    Since showing
    234 AUTH TLS successful
    TLS connection established.

    It is under: 331 Password required for u225919089.giftoggle.com
    Response: 530 Login incorrect

    So, to confirm, the problem is with password and other details (Host and Username) are correct? Or at least Host detail is correct?

    Yes, the host info is correct. The problem is with the login credentials, possibly the password.

    From your screenshots, it seems you have access to the hosting account. So if the client sent you the FTP password, I’ll recommend you create a new one from the control panel. If you’re copying and pasting the password, take care to be sure there’s no space before or after the password.

    And if none of this works, you’ll really have to contact the host. If you have access to the client’s control panel account, you should be able to open a ticket from there… or get your client to open the ticket.

    NB: Note that the username you used in the screenshot in Your original post (ie the plugin’s FTP connection) is not the same as the username displayed in your control panel in the screenshot in your second post.)

    The screenshot is provided by the client. So I do not have access to Hostinger account of the client.

    On FileZilla, I tried with username: u225919089.giftoggle.com as well u225919089. Both did not work.

    Asked the client to get in touch with Hostinger Support.
