I’m having trouble creating a filter based on an additional field.

These are the steps I took:
    1. Under the options tab, I added an additional field for markers.
    2. I created a couple markers and populated the additional field.
    3. I went to my map, went to the Filters tab, and chose Marker as the Post Type.

At this point, I expected the additional field to be present under “How is this map filterable?” but it’s not there. Did I miss a step? Thanks.

    Hi @ggf4379
Additional fields used only for add additional information for markers but not for filtering
For filters used only taxonomy terms
To add additional filters you need to create a new taxonomy and add the necessary terms
    see example https://locateandfilter.monothemes.com/examples/how-create-additional-filters/

    Thanks, that’s really helpful.

I’ve now created a new taxonomy and I’ve assigned values to the taxonomy for each of my 2 markers (the values are 4 and 6, respectively). I tried to filter by range, but the filter seems not to have any effect. No matter where I place the slider, the markers are always present on the map, even when they should be filtered out. Filtering by the other methods (checkboxes, dropdown, select multiple, tokenize) works well.

Is there anything extra I need to do to filter by range?

Nevermind, just tried again and it’s now working as expected. Thanks for your help with this. It seems like a really useful plugin.
