Filter Content into Middle of Post

  • Perhaps I am missing something, but I am not seeing how to filter content into the middle of a post. I only want the content to appear on the single.php page.

    I figured out how to place content after a post using the the_content filter hook.

    If you look at this post,

    The content after the <!–more–> tag starts with TIMING. I would like to pop a banner ad right above that. So basically, what I need to do is figure out how to locate the <!–more–> in the content ($content?) and then replace that with a banner ad before the more is replaced. Is that doable?
