I currently use PayPal Standard along with a code snippet to change the seller paypal email for different vendors. However, according to paypal I need to move away from PayPal Standard and wondered if you have a similar filter or another way to modify the email address?

I have a couple of questions:

Does switching the email address affect which PayPal account the funds are going to and is that your intention?

Is this for a multi-vendor setup?

    Thanks,

Yes that’s exactly what the snippet is for, it allows multiple paypal accounts to be used in a multi-vendor woocommerce site.

I’ll need more information from you to fully understand the request.

Are you wanting to use PayPal accounts that you own, or accounts that corresponds to vendors that sell products on your site?

Nothing like this is currently supported by the plugin. My understanding is there are existing multi-vendor solutions that exists that can be used with PayPal.

    Thanks,

I run an event website. The PayPal accounts are owned by ‘event organisers’ (vendors) that use my site to sell tickets to their events. I don’t use any multi-vendor plugins, it is my code that handles the vendors. Vendors store their paypal details on my site and I choose which account (email) to connect to paypal when tickets are sold. This means when a ticket is sold it goes directly to the vendor’s paypal account.

This works with PayPal standard, but paypal are telling me I need to move over to their latest API.

We’re going to have to forward this request on to the PayPal team so they can comment on how best to accommodate this use case.

Our understanding is it will require you to have each vendor authenticate their PayPal account, similar to how our Connect process works on the API Settings page.

    Kind Regards,

Yes that would work, thanks so much for your help with this.

    Best wishes

Has there been any progress with this request? I am getting frequent reminders from PayPal to move from the Standard plugin (that my code snippet uses) to their new API.

@joncon62 We spent some time investigating if this was possible using the new PayPal integration and it would require some additional customization that has greater complexity than the old PayPal Standard way of simply changing the PayPal business email.

Please use our contact us page and we can engage in more detail since custom work like this is beyond the scope of the support forums.

    Kind Regards,
