• Hello!

    The plugin works fine to filter images within the media gallery, but there is no filter in the ‘Add media’ dialog when writing an article or adding a featured image to a post. This makes the plugin pretty much useless, because I need the filter THERE, not in the media gallery.

    Hai cnanews,
    Sorry to hear it is not working.
    Could you be a bit more specific on what’s not working?
    Then I could try to fix it.
    Please note that there could also be a conflict with other plug-ins you are using.

    If I want to upload an image inside my article, or as a featured image, the image filter is not working. Yesterday was OK but I think the V1.9.6 has a small problem to view this filter.-

    Again, sorry to hear and to be honest, also a bit surprised to.
    The function you describe that is not working now was not working for all other users. And that was exactly what I tried to fix in the new update.
    Maybe I now implemented a feature which was also used by one of the other plugins you use?
    Could you please provide me with a list of all the plugins you use?
    There is a plugin for that, you could try Plugin Report.

    Good evening. About for 1 month I was working with your previous version. Everything was GOOD. When I updated to the new one version, starts this only problem. Really I’m surprised too. Anyway, I will list the plugins that I’m using. Thank you very much.-

    Hai,
    This is an impressive list of plugins.
    Do you have a test site to do some tests?
    A nice way of testing is to disable plugins one by one to see the effect.
    Sometimes, when there is a conflict between plugins, disabling that particular other plugin should solve the issue at hand. And when that is clear, it is much easier to debug the issue.
    In the new version 1.9.7, I added a switch option to disable the new functionality. Maybe you could use that to get it working again for now?

    One other thing I would like to mention has to do with the Gutenberg blocks themselves.
    It took me a while to realise that these blocks use a filter as well. When you add a Gutenberg block “Image”, the media library only shows image type of files. When you add a “Document”, it only shows document media.
    This might also effect the expected output…

    Hope this helps.
    Please let me know what has come out of your tests.

    Hi,

    I have the same Problem. I updated to version 1.9.7 – no success. It makes no different with classic or block editor.

    I did some test with Firefox Inspector and found that it depents on the file “wp-media-category-management/css/admin.css” in line 94. I changed max-width and then it works for “Add Media” and for “Featured Image” – for classic and block editor.

    .media-frame select.attachment-filters {
    /* max-width: 90% !important; */
    max-width: 30% !important;
    }

    With the original value the MCM select box is hidden below the default select boxes.

    New Option “Use Gutenberg Filter” is working.

    Some more information

    Before I got the problem I could see the number of Media with the categories. These numbers are now gone.

    Update information.

    The number of Media are not visible when new Option “Use Gutenberg Filter” is activ: wether in block editor nor in classic editor.

    The number of Media are only in classic editor visible when new Option “Use Gutenberg Filter” is not activ. In block editor is no MCM select list available.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi
    I did some more tests with css in file “wp-media-category-management/css/admin.css”.
    The changes I notices before did not always work as expected. Replace you css code from line 93 till end of file with these new settings:

    .media-toolbar-secondary {
      width: 100% !important;
    }
    .media-toolbar-secondary select.attachment-filters {
      width: calc(100% / 4 + 12px) !important;
    }

    Now you can change size of browser window, the select filter will always be visible for “Add Media” and “Add Featured Image” in classic editor or block editor.

    One thing I could not get done were the numbers of Media as mentioned before.

    Good morning again. I disable one by one all my plugins but the problem exists. The plugin works fine to filter images within the media gallery, but there is no filter in the ‘Add media’ dialog when writing an article or adding a featured image to a post. Thank you.-

    Like “cnanews” I’ve updated to 1.9.7 but I’m still not able to see the category filter when I’m trying to Add Media from within an article.

    Categories show fine on the Media Library
