Filter out dns-prefetch requests

At this time, we do not have a way to filter that out, overall it helps to speed up your site’s load.

I’m not sure why these are added, when I’m not utilizing those domains (I serve Gravatars locally, emoji locally etc.), therefore wouldn’t necessarily help when it comes to performance? If anything, it’s unnecessary requests and therefore doesn’t help?

If I disable certain features, would those prefetches be removed or are they just always there?

A few will remain, as they are core to Jetpack (the CSS and the JS), but you’re welcome to try disabling modules following https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpacks-modules-on-one-page/ to see if that makes any impact.
