Filter Portfolio Posts from Blog Page

I think it’s awesome that you’re using post type filtering to place the portfolio posts on the home (front-page). However I’ve noticed that those same posts aren’t filtered out of the blog.

How can I take the blog page ID, coupled with the category ID, and filter out the portfolio category specifically from the blog page only so projects don’t show on it?
