great plugin, thanks a looooooot ??
Q: how to display table based on its name selected from Combobox?
    Example:
    I’ve 3 tables (tb1, tb2 and tb3) with the same 3 rows (year, name1, name2)
with different data of course I need to put a combobox “contains tables names” and another combobox “contains years”.. and when user chose a name and year, then hit whatever button, the called table appears/show/load …

    appreciate your efforts
    thanks a lot

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

As mentioned in the other thread, I don’t have a readily usable solution here, sorry. TablePress can only bring you the tables, but it does not have the logic built-in that you need to show the desired table.
You will need custom programming, maybe based on PHP and JavaScript here.

    thanks for your quick response,

Tobias: about the combo box, I don’t really have a direct solution. I suggest to create one page per table, insert the Shortcode there, and then use some custom JS to switch the pages, based on what was selected.

fine I’ll try to do some programming code, but how to search on data stored in tables, beside that how to search for tables names..
in another way, what I’m gonna search for, to get the table name or stored data?
and if we decide to make every table in it’s own page, then I’ll search for the name of page, but the problem is how to search for stored data in different tables?!!

    thanks

    Hi,

TablePress integrates into the WordPress search, so that that also searches tables (that are including in a page or post).
If that’s not really what you need, you might want to check a true custom solution, based maybe on real mySQL tables.

    Hi,

TablePress uses the wp_posts table, but it is not importing SQL directly.

The relevant places are in the controller-admin.php and class-import.php files.

I’ve read these files before writing to you .. and I knew that it actually used wp_posts and I’ve done my job already … it was my problem in the JSON code, but I solved it by json_decode .. thank you very much and for your efforts and caring about response even if it’s not about using the plugin ??

    Hi,

ah, yes, I should have mentioned that ?? Yes, the tables are JSON encoded. For details on the array scheme, you can also take a look at model-table.php.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
