• Hi,

    First of all thanks for this awesome plugin! It really does the job. I have one question though;

    Would it be possible to use the filter options on an existing query?

    For example; when I use the core search function of WordPress and insert the filter shortcode, it filters through all the posts, not the queried search posts. Same applies to custom taxonomy pages; it would be cool if the filter plugin uses the query of the custom taxonomy its on rather then a new query containing all the posts.

    Thanks!

    Not quite understand what you meant.

    There are no much different to query all the posts and query only the custom taxonomy. In the end, there all need to query through the database.

    I think what he means is the possibility to filter an existing query, and/or to limit a search to a specific category.

    For example, if I visit a category named “cars”, WP will show me a list of all the posts belonging to this “car” category.

    Now, let’s say I’ve created the a ‘brand’ taxonomy, and I’m using it as a filter in a custom search form (available on my “cars” category).

    If I select the brand “Volkswagen”, I will get a list of ALL the posts tagged with this term across the entire website. What he wants is ONLY to retrieve posts tagged as “volkswagen” IN the “cars” category.

    In the same way, he’d like to be able to filter a search result (generated using core WP search) with your plugin ??

    @jslice,
    If limit a search to a specific category, it can achieve via a filter.
    You can refer to this thread for the solution.

    Thanks for your quick reply, that’s what I did yesterday, and it’s working like a charm.

    Wouldn’t it be possible to manage this via a plugin option?

    Awesome work, thanks for this nice plugin!

    Maybe will include in the plugin, or maybe not. Depends on the time I available.
