What is the type of the column you’re trying to filter?

I’m also having this issue. I just bought and applied the Pro plugin, and can’t get filtering to show up for an ACF created custom field. It shows up fine as a column and sorting works, but the filter does not show at all.

What is the type (in ACF) of the ACF field you are trying to display?

    Its Field Type is Relationship.

I’m attempting to build an Artist section for a site built around this relationship, and filtering on it is the whole reason I got the Pro plugin.

As I said the column works and the sorting works, so it seems odd that the filtering does not.

I don’t see Relationship listed on this page…

… but I just assumed it falls under Custom Field, as that’s how the column is set up in CAC.

Thanks for the additional information. Admin Columns doesn’t support filtering serialized data in custom fields, unfortunately, as we cannot parse the serialized data properly in the filtering request. Please see this related ticket for more information.

That’s very dissappointing. That really should be made that clear in the documentation, and especially cited on the page that lists the exact filtering capabilities. I would not have bought the Pro add-on if the Relationship type was known to be not filterable.

I’m sorry you feel this way about the functionality. However, I believe we do not imply that we support all possible formats of custom field data and can automatically link them to posts and other types of content. We support custom fields, and we even offer different types of displaying and formatting custom fields. However, we do not imply to fully support filtering and sorting for all different ACF types.

In the future, we will possible create an extension to offer extended support for more complex ACF types such as the Relationship type.

I’m just suggesting that you could be more explicit in your chart about what you do and don’t support with ACF, since you do say you support or work with Advanced Custom Fields. It’d be helpful in knowing the extent of limits of it’s capabilities.

I still might have use for the Pro plugin, so I’m not asking for a refund. It’s just that what I intended to use it for was not supported, and the documentation did not address that, so it’s disappointing to find out after the fact.
