finding default SG Window

    I am having a very difficult time formatting this theme. As I make/customize changes sometimes they are enabled and sometimes not.

    I have tried refreshing the screen after making each change to reactivate the customizer and I have tried closing the customizer after each change and reopening it and that does not seem to have an effect. I have attempted to make only one change at a time so as to be able to undo any unwanted effects – that doesn’t seem to work either.

    At this point the site, the site is not how I want it, that is: blog content to appear on the front page and subsequent pages with one side bar on the right with widgets.

    I cannot find a way to revert to the default setting for the theme.The only way I can think of is to delete the theme and begin again which I have already done once.

    Carlos, hello!

    You can set columns at:
    Customize > Customize Layout >
    > Front Page > Left Sidebar/Full Width
    > Default > Left Sidebar

    Set blog to front page:

    Customize > Static front Page settings

    Widgets at:

    > open page with widgets > Customize > Widgets

    Press Save or wait a few seconds to see changes in the customizer.

    There is no refresh for default settings in a theme. Open page you are customizing in the customizer (Front Page or default page) to preview changes.

    Thank you, cats_456 that worked. I wanted to have a look at what a 3 column might look like, but it seems that I can only do either, or, but not both right and left columns at the same time. Is that correct?

    caperez, you can set right, left or two – right and left columns. There is no option for 2 left or 2 right columns, if this is the question.

    That is great news! Forgive my ignorance, but I am reluctant to change any settings/options lest I screw up what I already have. Can you, one more time, tell me how to do that? I want to see what it would look like with: left sidebar – post content – right sidebar.

    One last thing, as a theme builder, what format do most people use in building a blog that eventually you want to monetize – 2 or 3 columns?

    At first,this blog will be content rich with little or no ads or affiliate links, eventually (3-6 months)I will add a few banner.

    Any opinions or experience with this approach?

    Carlos, you can choose columns from the same menu. I don’t think that number of columns has big influence on monetizing of the blog. It depends on the content you put in columns. Add categories, related posts, etc to make an easy navigation for users on your blog.

    Thank you for the upgrade. It fixed everything. I don’t know what you changed, but now any intuitive changes I make appear correctly and are saved as I intended them.

    I just noticed the upgrade a few minutes ago. I upgraded and presto the screen reflected my modifications.

    I was about to delete the theme and attempt a third re-install. If I could not make it work on my third try, I was going to rate this theme badly, but I will reserve that judgement and rate it well after I play with it some more.

    I like the look of it.
