• Hi, my blog went down last week. I’ve mostly restored it but my subscribers have disappeared. I know they must be in a back-up file somewhere so I can manually add them back but does anyone know exactly where? TIA

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @jenpen25

Are you using some plugin to manage your subscribers, or are you talking about regular users with a subscriber role?

In the first situation, please, give us the plugin name and how do you use.

In the second situation, the subscribers should be in the users table, so if you can’t find them there, maybe you are using an old backup and these users have been subscribed to your blog later.

Thanks Jesús, I’m not using a plug-in so I suppose it’s regular users who are subscribed. But before the site crashed there were plenty, now there are two. And after I posted I thought, they would be in the DB, not the files, and the DB is intact. So why are they not showing up?

    Hi @jenpen25

Are these hidden users in the users table? If you have these users, can you take a look in the usermeta table, to look for the wp_capabilities for each user? Do you have these rows?

Jesús, I took a chance and posted, and it seems that subscribers were alerted, so maybe they were in a plug-in after all, maybe Jetpack. Anyway, emergency averted ??
    Thanks for your help.
