    Hi !

How can I identify where I have used a specific table id? This is so I can edit the post and replace the shortcode in a gutenberg block.

    Thanks.

    Hi @ajtruckle,

    thanks for your question!

Note that it’s not immediately necessary to convert existing Shortcodes to the block, as those will continue to work absolutely fine and in the same way as before. You could therefore in principle simply do that when editing a post/page with a table the next time.

Of course, if you want to convert the Shortcodes, that’s also no problem!

One way to find tables that I often use is to just navigate to the “Posts” or “Pages” list in the WordPress Dashboard and search for [table there.

This will then reduce the list to those containing a Shortcode. You could also search for a specific Shortcode, and you would then have to wrap it in quotation marks (and leave out the rest after the table ID), like "[table id=123" .

To convert a Shortcode to the block, just find the Shortcode on the page, and click on its little icon in the small toolbar that appears above it. That should open the “Transform to” section, where you can then choose “TablePress table”.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thank you for the speed response. The nice thing about them not being shortcodes is that I can see them visually in the editor.

    Hi,

yes, that’s a big part of the reason why I made that switch ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
