• Great plugin in that you don’t have to be a page admin on Facebook in order to hookup the plugin. Meta’s Conversion API techs love this plugin and recommend it over Facebook’s plugin for that reason. BUT there’s a HUGE issue! After installing and activating, I checked my page’s source code and discovered a variable named psyOptions which includes my name AND EMAIL ADDRESS! There’s no reason for this! And a huge downside in that my email address is now in the source code of over 180 pages of this website where every web-bot in the world can have a lovely time harvesting it. Thanks guys. Just what I wanted…more spam in my inbox. Merry effing christmas to me!

Not exactly true, no bot will have your email address.

Email, and some other user related data is sent with API events in order to allow/improve matching. It means that when a bot, crawler, or event other user visits your website, this data is NOT there. It’s there when you visit the site and you are logged-in.

And you can also disable Advanced Matching for Meta and Conversion API to avoid this completely.
