Finnish localization comment on installation
-
I completed the Finnish translation. I’d say it is 99% good except for the opening Template description, which I stripped some technical terms away from. So it’s good, thou doesn’t contain as much information as the original.
I activated the localization and had some trouble getting it work.
After some detective work, I found the problem was that the Finnish locale is “fi” ( resulting in fi.mo) , not fi_FI.mo like the other translations.
I presume this should not be an issue, but if you’d like to improve your documentation you could add the following:
“Place your localized .po and .mo files in the
/{themename}/languages directory. The name should be adopted from
/{WP installation folder}/wp-content/languages/ as there are variations of the “en_EN” format across WordPress localizations.”
