Firefox and Safari have trouble playing my mediaplayer/JWPlayer 6 plugins

  • This is a fairly recent problem, some 2-3 weeks.

    Suddenly, Firefox users can’t play my sound files/podcast anymore. It plays for 2 seconds, then suddenly halts.

    Also, Safari users can apparently only control the ‘play’ button, not scroll inside the stream.

    Chrome and Explorer seem to be working fine.

    What I’ve done for years, is I upload the mp3 to my library, then I press ‘Insert with JWPlayer’. A code is added to my document. Then I write [audio] and [/audio] before and after the code, which means the player reverts back to WordPress’ internal media player. So I sometimes skip the whole ‘JWPlayer’ thing altogether and just insert it directly.

    In either case, something has happened with the playback for Firefox and Safari users.
