Firefox error .html in web address (404 not found)
-
Ok, so I’ll start by saying this only happens on Firefox. I’ve tested with Safari, Chrome, Sea Monkey and IE, and this issue only comes up on firefox.
when traveling to my site, cjrex.com , firefox automatically enters ‘/main.html’ at the end of the url. On all other browsers, the address remains cjrex.com as typed, and the browser navigates properly to my site.
I do have a page named ‘main’ and it is set in setting > reading as the static front page for my website.
The .html that firefox automatically adds triggers a 404 not found error
If I let firefox navigate to cjrex.com/main.html, then delete .html and hit enter it just automatically re-adds it.
I have an identical page made, just for testing this issue called ‘home’ and if I set ‘home’ as the static front page in settings > reading, firefox still auto redirects from cjrex.com (what I type) to cjrex.com/main.html
I can type in the address of any other page on my site in firefox, say cjrex.com/connect (which is still a mainly blank page while I finish writing the html) and it will navigate to the page correctly. only if I type in cjrex.com does it add /main.html and if I type cjrex.com/main it adds .html
Rather frustrating
What do I do?!?!
