First backup

    Hello. I just downloaded UpdraftPlus to evaluate for backups.

    It looks like it creates zip file of backups. But it says it will send to the “server”? If that my PC? On my web host or something else?

    My preference would be to my PC, but I didn’t see that as an option, and not really sure how to control the destination that way…

    Hi,

    UpdraftPlus by default saves the backup to your local server. If you have connected it to remote storage like Dropbox or Google Drive then it will send a copy to your remote storage too. You can also set UpdraftPlus to save the backups only to your remote storage and delete the copy on the local server.

    UpdraftPlus cannot send the backup directly to your PC. If you want to save the backup to your PC, I would suggest installing an app to your PC like the Dropbox app where you can automatically sync the backup to your PC.

    This was my question. What is my “server” or “local server”? Are you talking about my web host account? I only have computers

    Yes, the local server is your host – the one serving your website.
