First Class mail must weigh 13 ounces or less. No shipping calculation

    I am using WP-ecommerce version 3.8.14.1 and WP ver. 4.0. I have USPS First class and Priority configured.

    If I have a product that weighs more the 13 oz, I get error message “First Class mail must weigh 13 ounces or less.” No shipping prices are offered.

    What I tried:
    I tried
    – with all plugins disabled.
    – with 2012 theme.

    No change. Still did not work.

  • Hi Astreetweb,

    I’m pretty sure this warning is ignored in the current version of the USPS shipping module. You probably want to update.

    The problem is that the shipping module is configured to get quotes for first class mail, but your package does not qualify because of the weight. When USPS sends back the error the shipping module passes that error back to the user.

    It is my understanding that in the current release, the shipping module the discards that error.

    I did upgrade to latest version but reverted as I was getting NO shipping quotes unless I clicked on “calculate” button and then on product “update” button. I tried version WP-Ecommerce 3.8.14.3

    Perhaps if I knew the part of the code that “discards that error” I can try patching the version I have that works – sort of.

    Either that, get a fix for latest version so it works.
