First class simple mail not calculating correctly

That’s alright. I just assumed you would be using that USPS plugin as that’s needed. What are you using if not for that then?

I have these checked first class large envelope, first class package service, and priority mail, and priority express . For example I sell a stone for 50 cents. When I check large envelope on the settings the shipping is $1.16 and the label is 3 bucks. So I’m not making a profit but when I unchecked large envelope mail it the shipping is 3.13 Which is way too much for small stone.

I think Im not getting the right discount configurations for the labels. Shouldn’t the customer be paying for the label also?

It’s not too much. That’s standard shipping first class. That’s your commercial rate. If you feel that’s too much then remove any additional cost you’ve applied. But like I said in the video (at least I think I did) that first class cheapest is $2.75. But that also depends where you are in the country too.

The boxes and envelopes aren’t as important as finding the right checkbox that works for you. And if using custom boxes and envelopes you need to make sure that they meet their dimensions and weight allowances too. Otherwise you’re checking the wrong box.

oh ok. I have USPS plugin and woocomerce shipping/tax plugin, I did’nt add any additional cost for box or envelopes. I only added the weight of each product and the dimension of each product. I believe I checked off the right boxes. Im in California. I thought 3.13 it was too much to be honest. The cheapest for me was 40 cents for shipping and the label was 3 bucks. $2.75 was never offered to me.

You can’t even get a stamp for 40 cents anymore. It’s like 50 cents for a stamp now.

First Class mail is completely different from a letter that uses a stamp.

This also allows you to obtain a tracking number for your customers.

If you’re not yet using something like Ship Station or Ship Easy, I highly advise you demo an account there so you can get a better understanding of how things work.

You’ll see first class envelopes. Padded, not letter, start at around $2.75. Maybe a little cheaper, but I doubt it.

Online shopping is an entirely different beast when it comes to shipping. As is international which I’ll teach you about when you’re ready to go international.

If you follow my Loom, you’ll be doing it correctly. Just don’t yet and make a profit on shipping. Simply cover your costs and you’ll do fine.

Take a screenshot of your USPS settings. Because that is the exact layout that you would get if you checked all settings as I had shown you in my Loom. I’m not sure what a Loop is.
