• 2/19/20 update: Awesome Motive, the company behind this plugin is responsible for buying and then going against their word and paywalling the previously free features in the GADWP Analytics plugin. I will never use another Awesome Motive product ever again as they have proven themselves to be bad players in the ecosystem.

    Original Review:

I’ve been unable to use the plugin because they are having server problems and API issues, pages 501’ing, token / key errors in the dashboard, 403 errors, etc. …. but sometimes things happen, so hoping we can get this running soon.

I did notice that there’s a link in their panel in the main dashboard that says “Recommended Plugin: WP Forms”. I thought clicking on it would give me info about the suggested plugin, but instead the plugin is downloaded to my plugins folder without even asking for permission to allow the download. No bueno.

Also noticing the “[Extended] Cyber Monday Sale – Save 60% OFF” with the 3 hour countdown timer which prompted me to buy the 25 license version last night is still there today, resetting cookies resets the timer …. yikes. Definite credibility loss there as I associate that type of behavior with spammy / sleazy vendors. It’s not ok to say THREE HOURS LEFT! when that’s untrue.

If it weren’t for the glimpses I’ve seen of the dashboard that looked great, I would get a refund immediately as this is not the experience I would expect from a “Premium” business model.

    Hi there,
I’ll address the links part first. The links are all install links and are only shown to users with the ability to install plugins (by default administrators), we’ll make that verbage more clear in our next version of that.

As for the outage, I’m sorry for the experience so far, it’s been a rough day for us today.

We experienced our first major outage of the year this morning (we were so close to a perfect year, sigh), which was caused by our hosting provider having issues with a server configuration that they released to their customers, and was not caused by any bug in either our plugin or API.

We were notified immediately of the issue as we use a combination of several in house built and multiple external services for outage and performance degradation notifications (there’s nothing like a 3am wake-up phone call from an automated outage system to start your day).

This issue affected about 16% of users that tried to view reports during the period based on how our hosting provider does geographic distribution and load balancing, and lasted for several hours, though most of those 16% would have been able to intermittently access reports during the time period in question.

We got ahold of them as fast as we could and worked through that with them as best we could (since the issue was happening before our application was even loaded) to help them diagnose and resolve the issue, and we are still here many hours later making sure that everything continues to operate smoothly, and that adequate checks are implemented at the hosting provider to make sure something like this never happens again.

I fully acknowledge your 2 star rating is probably fair for today, but perhaps in some time, once you’ve had the opportunity to see us on normal days, you might reconsider (you can change your reviews of .org plugins at any time, though for some reason you can only ever have one for a plugin).

Gmail timestamp from my last response to support that has gone unanswered for 3 days: Fri, Nov 30, 3:26 PM (3 days ago). Just sent another response in hopes for getting info needed to clear the API / 403 response error we’re still getting despite our attempts to re-authenticate in the dashboard.
