First FAQ open on start

    Hello! Apologies if this is a silly question and I’m missing an obvious setting, but I’ve looked through the documentation and all the settings I can think of and I can’t find an answer…

    Is there a way to start with the first FAQ in a list expanded by default in accordion mode?

    Hi Sarah,

    There is no option for this, but it would be possible if you linked to your FAQ page with a specific FAQ pre-selected. You can do this by adding the following to the end of the URL of the page on which you have placed the FAQ block or shortcode:

    ?Display_FAQ=123

    Where 123 is the ID of the FAQ.

    For example, on our demo page, the ID of the first FAQ is 10, so, if I use the above parameter with that ID, it loads the page with the first FAQ open.

    Like so:

    https://www.etoilewebdesign.com/ultimate-faq-demo/?Display_FAQ=10

    So, if you link to your FAQ page via a menu item on your site, just include that parameter as part of the URL.

    You also just need to make sure that the “Permalink Destination” option (in the Basic area of the settings page) is set to “Main FAQ Page.”

    @jaysupport ah ok yes that works, but it loads the page at the anchor link of the specific FAQ rather than at the top of the page, is there any way to avoid this?

    There isn’t, unfortunately. The only way to have an FAQ automatically open is to use the URL parameter, but it will scroll to it.
