• Please please be gentle with me. I have been reading and trying this for about 4 weeks and I am just flummoxed.

I want the front page to only display category “news”.

then in navigation, I would like to go to a page called “blog” that contains all the rest of the posts looking like a regular blog for the people that want ALL the posts, not just the hot news.

I’ve tried Category Excluder Plugin, CQS. I’ve tried new templates made from the “single.php” page and from the “page.php”‘ I’ve tried static front page, I have honestly tried every combination that I know.

My hair has gone white and I sure that this is probably something so simple and I have just looked at it for too long.

So, any simple directions, like “using this template do this, and run this plugin”, I would owe you so much chocolate.

https://www.tokiohotelamerica.com/portal is the page I have been testing on. Watch for swear words. I am frustrated. ??

    No, it’s not simple.
The first part IS simple – having only one cat on homepage.
The second requests is when you get in trouble: to display all the rest on another (web)page.

I don’t say it is impossible (some knowledgeable coders around this forum convinced me to never say never…) but, probably, it would require some custom coding for the Loop.

Thank you Moshu. I will step back and think outside the box a little bit more and see what my little gray mass in my head can come up with.
